Franklin Youth Concert 2009

CALLING FOR PERFORMERS, SINGERS, GROUPS .

Franklin Arts, Culture and Library Trust (FACLT) is again looking for the district’s top young musicians and singers to perform in its annual Youth Concert, on Friday 21 August to be held at Franklin: The Centre.  

This year marks the sixth anniversary of the Youth Concert which has successfully showcased Franklin’s young and talented musicians and singers. Performers from classical to middle-of-the-road music styles are encouraged to contact the programme organiser, Lynda McDowall, to book a slot in the evening’s entertainment.  

We are looking for soloists, duos, groups, singers and any young performer who wish to have the opportunity to perform. All performers must reside in the Franklin District. FACLT would also like to see a wide cross section of our local teachers represented as well and we hope many will encourage their students to participate in this concert.

The event is not open Heavy Rock or Hip Hop music genres, but if you are keen to perform send your proposals to the FACLT team for the possibility of performing at a later date.

Lynda McDowall, Director of Majors ‘n’ Minors Children’s Music Studio is the show director for this event.

The Franklin Arts Culture and Library Trust is pleased to announce that it is re-starting operation of the recording studio at Franklin: The Centre, and conveys its thanks to everyone who has made enquiries while the facility was non-operational.

We welcome proposals for recordings from all musicians, bands, solo singers, rappers and instrumentalists. The recording studio could also be used for projects involving storytelling, oral history, and the creation of talking books.
