New Zealand Steel Gallery

Public exhibitions create a critical link between an audience and the exhibitor, stimulating thought, emotion and action in both parties and in unlimited areas.

Exhibition proposals are welcome.  The Gallery fees are $200 per week plus other expenses incurred based on the type of project proposed and the costs involved.  All costs are negotiable and gallery staff can assist artists/groups to apply for outside funding from The Creative Communities Funding Scheme and/or other appropriate funding organisations where appropriate.  It is always worthwhile to discuss your concept with the gallery manager to assess what the possibilities are.

The Gallery Specifications document allows the artist/exhibitor to assess whether the space will be suitable for their project and the Proposal Form allows for the artist/exhibitor to formulate their ideas and submit it in the accepted format.

Artists/Exhibitors submit a proposal, which is reviewed by the Gallery Manager who selects proposals based on their suitability to the Annual Gallery program and the objectives of the gallery.  Once an artist/exhibitor has had their proposal approved they are to follow the Exhibition Schedule to ensure their exhibition is executed on time and with optimal promotion.

Proposals must be submitted at least 6 months in advance of an artist/exhibitor wanting to show, as the year quickly fills up and to allow for adequate time to apply for funding or pursue other sponsorship by the artist/exhibitor for their exhibition.

Please note:  Any one interested in exhibiting may call the Gallery Curator; Suzette van Dorsser,  for an appointment to discuss their ideas.
An appointment is necessary, 09 238 8899 or info.fact@xtra.co.nz
